Anvācayaśiṣṭa (अन्वाचयशिष्ट):—[tatpurusha compound] m. f. n.

(-ṣṭaḥ-ṣṭā-ṣṭam) Taught or laid down as a matter of secondary import, being the object of a secondary rule or observation; used in reference to pradhānaśiṣṭa, what is taught or laid down as a matter of primary import; e. g. Patanjali observes on Pāṇ. Vii. 3. 117-119. (comp. Vii. 3. 118. Vārtt. 3): pradhānaśiṣṭamautvam . anvācayaśiṣṭamatvam . yathā kyaṅi salopaḥ . tadyathā pradhānaśiṣṭaḥ kyaṅ prātipadikamātrādbhavati yatra ca sakārastatra lopaḥ . ; or the Kāśikā on the same rules: audacca gheriti yeṣāmekamevedaṃ sūtraṃ tena pradhānaśiṣṭamidudbhyāmautvaṃ ca varṇayanti . anvācayaśiṣṭaṃ gherakāramiti ... In a similar manner Mallinātha explains in the Kirātārjunīya the words nanu lakṣmīḥ phalamānuṣaṅgikam thus: lakṣmīḥ sampat . anuṣaṅgādāgatamānuṣaṅgikamanvācayaśiṣṭaṃ phalaṃ nanu . mānatrāṇaṃ jaya sa eva mukhyaṃ phalam . abhyuccayastu lakṣmīriti mānināṃ māna eva ślāghya ityarthaḥ ...
