Antarjala (अन्तर्जल):—I. [tatpurusha compound] n.

(-lam) 1) The water in the interior; e. g. of a cloud, stambhitāntarjalaughaḥ.

2) The interior of the water; comp. madhyejala; but antarjale may be taken also as two separate words, e. g. antarjale ubhe sandhye prāṇāyāmena śuddhyati (where the neglect of Sandhi ºle uº is either a misprint in the Mitākṣara or a liberty of Parāsara who in a previous verse writes mayūrameṣau hatvā ca ekabhaktena śuddhyati (for it seems impossible to interpret antarjale in that passage otherwise than as a locat. of a [tatpurusha compound] or as antar and jale). Ii. Avyayībh.

(-lam) In the water. E. antar and jala.
