2. Husband, lover; கணவன். அன்பனைக்காணா தலவுமென் னெஞ்சன்றே [kanavan. anpanaikkana thalavumen nenchanre] (சிலப்பதிகாரம் அரும்பதவுரை [silappathigaram arumbathavurai] 18, 17).
3. Pious man, devotee; பக்தன். குருகூர் நகர்நம்பிக் கன்பனாய் [pagthan. kurugur nagarnambig kanpanay] (நாலாயிர திவ்யப்பிரபந்தம் கண்ணிநுண். [nalayira thivyappirapandam kanninun.] 11).
