Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationAnnodaka (अन्नोदक) refers to “rice cooked with water”, which is used in the worship of Śiva, after daily rituals, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.1.13, while explaining the mode of worshipping Śiva:—“[...] rice cooked with (annodaka) water shall be brought for the worship of Śiva. Whatever other things he can bring shall also be brought and kept near. A vessel for Arghya with water and scented raw rice grains shall also be brought”.

The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
