Aññatra, (adv.) (anya + tra, see also aññattha) elsewhere, somewhere else J.V, 252; Pv IV.162. In compn. also = añña°, e. g. aññatra-yoga (adj.) following another discipline D.I, 187; M.I, 487. — As prep. c. Abl. (and Instr.) but, besides, except, e. g. a. iminā tapo- pakkamena D.I, 168; kiṃ karaṇīyaṃ a. dhammacariyāya S.I, 101; ko nu aññatram-ariyehi who else but the Nobles Sn.886 (= ṭhapetvā saññā-mattena SnA 555). —kiṃ aññatra what but, i. e. what else is the cause but, or: this is due to; but for D.I, 90 (vusitavā-mānī k. a. avusitattā); S.I, 29 (k. k. a. adassanā except from blindness); Sn.206 (id.).
