Annasvarūpa (अन्नस्वरूप) or Annasaṃrakṣaṇīya refers to the “protection of food items” and represents a chapter of the Sūtrasthāna of the 5th century Aṣṭāṅgahṛdaya by Vāgbhaṭa. The seventh chapter annasaṃrakṣaṇīya describes the mutually incompatible food items (viruddhāhāra) in detail.
