Anetad (अनेतद्):—[tatpurusha compound] m. f. n. (-ṣaḥ-ṣā-tad) Not he, she, it; other than he, she, it. (The nomin. aneṣaḥ does not loose its Visarga when the uncompounded word would drop it; e. g. aneṣo dadāti, but eṣa dadāti. Before the taddh. aff. akac which is always placed before the inflection endings and cannot be made visible in the base itself, the feminine which in its uncompounded state would be either eṣakā or eṣikā, is always aneṣakā, whether the etym. be a neg. and eṣaka i. e. etada, taddh. aff. akac ([tatpurusha compound]) or anetad, taddh, aff. akac.) E. a neg. and etad.

context information

Sanskrit, also spelled संस्कृतम् (saṃskṛtam), is an ancient language of India commonly seen as the grandmother of the Indo-European language family (even English!). Closely allied with Prakrit and Pali, Sanskrit is more exhaustive in both grammar and terms and has the most extensive collection of literature in the world, greatly surpassing its sister-languages Greek and Latin.
