Aṇḍikā.—weight equal to (1/4) of a māṣa (JNSI, Vol. XVI, p. 48); same as the copper paṇa (ibid., Vol. II, p. 7); also called dhānaka and regarded as equal to 4 kārṣāpaṇas or to (1/12)th suvarṇa (ibid., p. 8). Note: aṇḍikā is defined in the “Indian epigraphical glossary” as it can be found on ancient inscriptions commonly written in Sanskrit, Prakrit or Dravidian languages.
