Andhīkṛta (अन्धीकृत) refers to the “blinded” (by the irresistible spreading of ignorance and passion), according to the 11th century Jñānārṇava, a treatise on Jain Yoga in roughly 2200 Sanskrit verses composed by Śubhacandra.—Accordingly, “Certainly, for embodied souls whose selves are blinded (andhīkṛta-ātman) by the irresistible spreading of ignorance and passion, pains are to be endured for a very long time in hell, etc.”.
