Anavakāśatva (अनवकाशत्व).—Absence of any opportunity of taking effect, scopelessness considered in the case of a particular rule, as a criterion for setting aside that general rule which deprives it of that opportunity cf. अनवकाशत्वं निरवकाशत्वं वा बाधकत्वे बीजम् (anavakāśatvaṃ niravakāśatvaṃ vā bādhakatve bījam). This अन-वकाशत्व (ana-vakāśatva) is slightly different from अप-वादत्व (apa-vādatva) or particular mention which is defined usually by the words सामान्य-विधिरुत्सर्गः । विशेषविधिरपवादः । (sāmānya-vidhirutsargaḥ | viśeṣavidhirapavādaḥ |)
