Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationAnaraṇyasutā (अनरण्यसुता) refers to “being the daugher of Anaraṇya” (i.e., Padmā), according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.34 (“The Story of Anaraṇya”).—Accordingly, as the people said to sage Pippalāda: “This excellent lady, the repository of all good qualities, is the daughter of Anaraṇya (anaraṇyasutā) and is called Padmā. She is another Lakṣmī (goddess of fortune). She is being wooed by great kings”.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
