Ānandavṛkṣa (आनन्दवृक्ष) refers to the “tree of bliss”, according to the 11th century Jñānārṇava, a treatise on Jain Yoga in roughly 2200 Sanskrit verses composed by Śubhacandra.—Accordingly, “There is nothing like the doctrine which is productive of all prosperity, the root of the tree of bliss [com.—ānandavṛkṣa—‘tree of bliss’], beneficial, venerable and grants liberation. Snakes, fire, poison, tigers, elephants, lions, demons and kings, etc. do not hurt those whose selves are settled in the doctrine”.
