Aṃga (अंग) [Also spelled ang]:—(nm) a limb; member; body; part; component; organ; ~[ccheda] amputation; ~[trāṇa] an armour; -[pratyaṃga] each and every part of the body; -[bhaṃga] mutilation of any part of the body; -[bhaṃgimā]/[bhaṃgī] (fascinating or inviting) physical gesture or posture, graceful manner or carriage; ~[bhūta] component, constituent; ~[rakṣaka] a bodyguard; protector of person; ~[rakṣā] protection of person; -[rāga] aromatic unguents and cosmetics; -[vikṣepa] twisting of the parts of the body for emotive expression; -[saṃskāra] make-up; -[sauṣṭhava] physical charm; ~[hīna] maimed; limbless; disabled; [aṃgāṃgi saṃbaṃdha] organic relationship;-[aṃga khila jānā]/[muskarānā] to be beaming and buoyant; -[aṃga ḍhīle ho jānā] to be worn and wearied, to lose muscularity; -[phūle na samānā] to be in a rapture; —[meṃ aṃga na samānā] to be in a fit of ecstasy; —[laganā] (for nourishment etc.) to be manifest in the form of physical fitness or health; —[lagānā] to embrace.
