Āmalakaphalavaṭa (आमलकफलवट) refers to the “vaṭas soaked in myrobalan fruit” is a type of dish featuring Vaṭakas or Black-gram, as described in the 17th century Bhojanakutūhala (dravyaguṇāguṇa-kathana), and is commonly found in literature dealing with the topics of dietetics and culinary art, also known as Pākaśāstra or Pākakalā.—Siddhānna-prakaraṇa describes the recipes and properties of different dishes.
