Source: archive.org: Ceylon Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society 1963Alutvāva is the name of a village anciently called Hopiṭiya, and existed in the ancient kingdom of Anurādhapura, Ceylon (Sri Lanka).—Alutvāva, a village about 3 miles north of the 12th mile on the Kākirāva-Talāva road, is called Hopiṭiya in the sub-division Mahademeṭi-kuliya, in an inscription of Kassapa IV (898-914) in situ: also mentioned is the place Govīn-nāmāpiṭiya.
