Source: archive.org: Vagbhata’s Ashtanga Hridaya Samhita (first 5 chapters)Alpabhojana (अल्पभोजन) refers to “little food”, mentioned in verse 4.11-12 of the Aṣṭāṅgahṛdayasaṃhitā (Sūtrasthāna) by Vāgbhaṭa.—Accordingly, “[...] Xerostomia, flaccidity of limbs, deafness, stupor, giddiness, and heart-disease (result) from the restraint of thirst. In this ease every cold application (is) wholesome. Racking in the limbs, anorexia, lassitude, emaciation, stitches [viz., śūla], and giddiness (result from the restraint) of hunger. In this case light, fat, warm, and little food [viz., alpabhojana] (is) to be taken. [...]”.
