Source: archive.org: Catalogue of Pancaratra Agama TextsĀlayanirmāṇaphalavidhi (आलयनिर्माणफलविधि) (lit. “concerning the rewards for raising different kinds of temple-structures”) is the name of chapter 3 of the Puruṣottamasaṃhitā: a Pāñcarātra text consisting of more than 1800 verses devoted to temple-building and the practical concerns of the Pāñcarātra priestly community.—Description of the chapter [ālayanirmāṇaphalavidhi]: The sages ask to know what benefits will come from building a temple installing an image and instituting worship to it (1). Vasiṣṭha begins by his reply detailing specially what good effects come from a yajamāna-patron undertaking to subsidize a temple-building project (2-31)—citing eulogistically that even a child playing in sand who fashions a temple is greatly benefited (14). Indeed, even one who deans some part of a temple will get mokṣa (16b-17a). As for icon-preparation, he who has a Viṣṇu-icon prepared reaps more reward than one who builds an entire temple dedicated to Śiva or other deities (32-37).
Pancaratra (पाञ्चरात्र, pāñcarātra) represents a tradition of Hinduism where Narayana is revered and worshipped. Closeley related to Vaishnavism, the Pancaratra literature includes various Agamas and tantras incorporating many Vaishnava philosophies.
