Source: DSpace at Pondicherry: Siddha Cult in TamilnaduAkulavīratantra (अकुलवीरतन्त्र).—The Akulavīra Tantra is said to have been revealed by Mīṉanātha (Matsyendranātha) himself.It is a small text containing some statements on Tāntric Yoga. One manuscript dates back to 13th Century C.E and its origin is Kāmarūpa (Assam). Another manuscript of the same belongs to 9th Century C.E.

Shaiva (शैव, śaiva) or Shaivism (śaivism) represents a tradition of Hinduism worshiping Shiva as the supreme being. Closely related to Shaktism, Shaiva literature includes a range of scriptures, including Tantras, while the root of this tradition may be traced back to the ancient Vedas.
