Āhopuruṣā (आहोपुरुषा).—[aho puruṣa vuñ P.II.1.72 mayūravyaṃsakādi]

1) great self-conceit or pride; आहोपुरुषिका दर्पाद्या स्यात्संभावनात्मनि (āhopuruṣikā darpādyā syātsaṃbhāvanātmani) Ak.; आहोपुरुषिकां पश्य मम सद्रत्नकान्तिभिः (āhopuruṣikāṃ paśya mama sadratnakāntibhiḥ) Bhaṭṭikāvya 5.27.

2) military vaunting, boasting.

3) vaunting of one's own prowess; निजभुज- बलाहोपुरुषिकाम् (nijabhuja- balāhopuruṣikām) Bv.1.84. अहो रणरसोत्साहादाहोपुरुषिकामधात् (aho raṇarasotsāhādāhopuruṣikāmadhāt) Śiva. B.26.4.
