Agrata (अग्रत).—adv. [agre agrādvā, agra-tasil] (with gen.)
1) Before (opp. pṛṣṭhataḥ), in front of, at the head of; forward; अग्रतश्चतुरो वेदान् प्रष्ठतः सशरं धनुः । इदं ब्राह्ममिदं क्षात्रं शापादति शरादपि (agrataścaturo vedān praṣṭhataḥ saśaraṃ dhanuḥ | idaṃ brāhmamidaṃ kṣātraṃ śāpādati śarādapi) || Subhās. न गणस्याग्रतो गच्छेत् (na gaṇasyāgrato gacchet) H.1.29. गच्छाग्रतः (gacchāgrataḥ) lead the way; °तो विलोक्य (to vilokya) seeing before him.
