Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationAghorabīja (अघोरबीज) or Aghorabījamantra is the name of a Mantra associated with waring Rudrākṣa beads on the forearms, according to the Śivapurāṇa 1.25, while explaining the greatness of Rudrākṣa:—“[...] the wise devotee shall wear the Rudrākṣa round the forearms with Aghorabīja-mantra. A string of fifteen beads shall be worn on the stomach with Vāmadeva mantra”.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
