Advyupasarge (अद्व्युपसर्गे).—Not preceded by (two or more) prepositions; i. e. preceded by only one preposition. cf. छादेर्घेऽद्व्युपसर्गस्य (chāderghe'dvyupasargasya) P.VI.4.96 prescribing short अ (a) for the long आ (ā) of the root छाद् (chād) before the kṛt. affix घ (gha), eg. प्रच्छदः (pracchadaḥ)
