Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionaryaḍaṇēṃ (अडणें).—v i ( H) To be stopped, detained, hindered, impeded. 2 To work or go tightly, stiffly, hard; to pinch. 3 To stop, decline, refuse; to refrain obstinately. 4 To be restive--a horse. 5 To suffer stoppage in parturition. aḍatēṃ or aḍalēṃ pāhaṇēṃ-dharaṇēṃ-mōjaṇēṃ g. of o. To behold one's distress or difficulty without relieving it: or to take advantage of one's necessity. As a form of reduplication of aḍaṇēṃ the verb bhiḍaṇēṃ is often taken up. Ex. aḍalēṃ bhiḍalēṃ kāma asalēṃ tara malā sāṅga; aḍalā bhiḍalā kōṇhī ālā tara tyācā samācāra ghyāvā.
