阿鞞 [a bing]—(Ābèi) — [Term] Position/Status. An abbreviation of 跋致 [ba zhi] (Ābèibáchì). Xuanying Yinyi (玄應音義 [xuan ying yin yi]) Volume 3 says: "(Ābèi) is here translated as 'non-retrogressive dwelling' (不退住 [bu tui zhu]), and the Ten Dwellings Sutra (十住經 [shi zhu jing]) refers to it as 'the seventh dwelling' (第七住 [di qi zhu])."
