Abhyāsavikāra (अभ्यासविकार):—[tatpurusha compound] m.

(-raḥ) (In comm. on Pāṇini.) The change (esp. of the vowel) in the syllable of reduplication; (as Guṇa or prolongation of the vowel in such a syllable of the intens. verbe: cecīyate, lolūyate, pāpacyate, yāyajīti); e. g. a Vārtt. to Pāṇ.: na vābhyāsavikāreṣvapavādasyotsargabādhakatvāt; or a Paribhāṣā: abhyāsavikāreṣvapavādā utsargānvidhīnna bādhante. E. abhyāsa and vikāra.
