1) Honoured, revered, greatly respectable; अभ्यर्हितं च (abhyarhitaṃ ca) Vārttika on P.II.2.34, Kāsi.29.

2) Fit, becoming, suitable; अभ्यर्हिता बन्धुषु तुल्यरूपा वृत्ति- र्विशेषेणतपोधनानाम् (abhyarhitā bandhuṣu tulyarūpā vṛtti- rviśeṣeṇatapodhanānām) Kirātārjunīya 3.11.

Abhyarhita (अभ्यर्हित):—[tatpurusha compound] m. f. n.

(-taḥ-tā-tam) 1) Respected, much honoured; used especially in the sense of the comparative: superior; e. g. Vārtt. 2. to Pāṇ. Ii. 2. 34. preferable: abhyarhitaṃ ca; or the Vārtt.: sarvata evābhyarhitaṃ pūrvaṃ nipatatīti vaktavyam; comp. the following; or Sāyaṇa on the Ṛgv. (introd.): atra kecidāhuḥ . ṛgvedasya prāthamyena sarvatrāmnātatvādabhyarhitaṃ pūrvamiti nyāyenābhyarhitatvāttadvyākhyānamādau yuktam; or Śaṅk. (on the Chhānd. Up. sa eṣa kośo vasudhānaḥ &c.): abhyarhitavijñānavyāsaṅgādanantarameva noktaṃ tadidānīmevārabhyate.
