Abhīruṇa (अभीरुण):—[tatpurusha compound] m. f. n.

(-ṇaḥ-ṇā-ṇam) (ved.) Fearless, undaunted (comp. abhīru); e. g. Vājas.: idamāpaḥ pravahatāvadyaṃ ca malaṃ ca yat . yaccābhidudrohānṛtaṃ yacca śepe abhīruṇam (‘the fearless i. e. the innocent, for it is only the guilty who is in fear’; Mahīdh.: bibhetīti bhīrurabhīrustamabhīruṇamanaparādhinamaparādhī hi bibheti). E. a neg. and bhīruṇa.
