Abhiniveśin (अभिनिवेशिन्).—a.

1) Devoted to, intent on, adhering or clinging to; वितथाभिनिवेशी च जायतेऽन्त्यासु योनिषु (vitathābhiniveśī ca jāyate'ntyāsu yoniṣu) Y. 3.134; कल्याणाभिनिवेशिनः (kalyāṇābhiniveśinaḥ) K.136 of blessed or noble resolve, 191.

2) Fixing on, directing or turning (the mind) to; गुणेष्वभिनिवेशिनो भर्तुरपि प्रिया (guṇeṣvabhiniveśino bharturapi priyā) M.3; अहो नु खलु दुर्लभ °शी मदनः (aho nu khalu durlabha °śī madanaḥ) V.1; Daśakumāracarita 57.

(-śī-śinī-śi) 1) Adhering, clinging; e. g. Yājnav.: vitathābhiniveśī ca jāyatentyāsu yoniṣu, i. e. adhering to false doctrines; (Mitākṣ.: vitathe satyabhūte vastunyabhiniveśaḥ punaḥ punaḥ saṃkalpastadvān; comp. abhiniveśa 1.).
