1) Oppressed or over-powered, with sin; e. g. Ṛgv.: sa nastrāsate duritādabhihrutaḥ śaṃsādaghādabhihrutaḥ (Sāy.: sognirabhihruta ābhimukhyena pāpairhriyamāṇānno’smānduritātpāpāttrāsate…. abhito hriyamāṇādaghāt…trāsate).
2) Acting offensively, an enemy; e. g. Ṛgv.: abhihrutāmasi hi deva viṣpaṭ (Sāy.: he deva abhihrutāmābhimukhyena kuṭilaṃ kurvatāṃ dviṣāṃ viṣpaṭ viśeṣeṇa bādhako’si hi); or Atharv.: apa tasya dveṣo gamedabhihruto yāvayacchatrumanti tam. Closely allied with Prakrit and Pali, Sanskrit is more exhaustive in both grammar and terms and has the most extensive collection of literature in the world, greatly surpassing its sister-languages Greek and Latin.
