(-haḥ) 1) Offence, injury, oppression; (in the Ṛgv. verse yatkiṃ cedaṃ varuṇa daivye janebhidrohaṃ manuṣyā3ścarāmasi, Sāyaṇa explains abhidroham as if it were an adj. in the acc. of the neuter, referring to yadidam, viz. yadidaṃ kiṃcanābhidrohamapakārajātam; but it is more probable that it is an apposition to yadidam and that the combination is a poetical liberty).
2) Abuse, curse; e. g. Manu: nāmajātigrahaṃ tveṣāmabhidroheṇa kurvataḥ . niḥkṣepyoyomayaḥ śaṅkurjvalannāsye daśāṅgulaḥ (Kullūka: abhidroha ākrośaḥ). E. druh with abhi, kṛt aff. ghañ.

[Sanskrit to German]
Sanskrit, also spelled संस्कृतम् (saṃskṛtam), is an ancient language of India commonly seen as the grandmother of the Indo-European language family (even English!). Closely allied with Prakrit and Pali, Sanskrit is more exhaustive in both grammar and terms and has the most extensive collection of literature in the world, greatly surpassing its sister-languages Greek and Latin.
