Abhīci (अभीचि) (Prakrit Abhīi) is another name for the constellation Abhijit, according to chapter 1.6 [ādīśvara-caritra] of Hemacandra’s 11th century Triṣaṣṭiśalākāpuruṣacaritra: an ancient Sanskrit epic poem narrating the history and legends of sixty-three illustrious persons in Jainism.

Accordingly, “[...] when eighty-nine fortnights of the third spoke in this avasarpiṇī remained, in the forenoon of the thirteenth day of the dark half of Māgha; the constellation Abhīci being in conjunction with the moon; seated thus in paryaṅka posture, remaining in coarse body-activity, he suppressed coarse speech- and mind-activity”.
