Abhibhāvuka (अभिभावुक).—a.

1) Overpowering, defeating, conq uering : शोकाभिभाविना भयेनाभिभूता (śokābhibhāvinā bhayenābhibhūtā) K.17 fear which conquered grief.

2) Surpassing, excelling; सर्वतेजोऽभिभा- विना (sarvatejo'bhibhā- vinā) R.1.14; Kirātārjunīya 11.6.

3) Disrespecting, humiliating.

4) Attacking.

Abhibhāvuka (अभिभावुक):—[tatpurusha compound] m. f. n.

(-kaḥ-kā-kam) The same as the preceding; e. g. Sāyaṇa: he abhibhūte śatrūṇāmabhibhāvukendra; or śatrorabhibhūtimabhibhāvukam; or parakīyaṃ balamabhibhāvuka kṣatram. E. bhū with abhi, kṛt aff. ukañ.
