The Udanavarga is a collection of Sanskrit verses representing aphorisms attributed to the Buddha and his disciples. The Udanavarga resembles the Pali Dhammapada and Udana, yet it belong the ancient tradition of early Buddhism. Alternative titles: Udānavarga (उदानवर्ग).

सुखं सुखार्थी लभते समाचरन् कीर्तिं समाप्नोति यशश् च सर्वतः ।
य आर्यम् अष्टाङ्गिकं आञ्जसं शिवं भावयति मार्गं ह्य् अमृतस्य प्राप्तये ॥ २० ॥

sukhaṃ sukhārthī labhate samācaran kīrtiṃ samāpnoti yaśaś ca sarvataḥ |
ya āryam aṣṭāṅgikaṃ āñjasaṃ śivaṃ bhāvayati mārgaṃ hy amṛtasya prāptaye || 20 ||
