The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

कृत्वेह स्वजनोत्सर्गं पुनरन्यत्र च क्रियाः ।
अत्राणः खलु लोको ऽयं परिभ्रमति चक्रवत् ॥ ५ ॥

kṛtveha svajanotsargaṃ punaranyatra ca kriyāḥ |
atrāṇaḥ khalu loko 'yaṃ paribhramati cakravat || 5 ||

Having wilfully rejected the good guides in this life and done all kinds of actions in various lives, this world of living beings rolls on helplessly, like a wheel.
