The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 13.61

तल्लोकमार्त्तं करुणायमानो रोगेषु रागादिषु वर्तमानम् ।
महाभिषग्नार्हति विघ्नमेष ज्ञानौषधार्थं परिखिद्यमानः ॥ ६१ ॥

tallokamārttaṃ karuṇāyamāno rogeṣu rāgādiṣu vartamānam |
mahābhiṣagnārhati vighnameṣa jñānauṣadhārthaṃ parikhidyamānaḥ || 61 ||

'Pitying the world lying distressed amidst diseases and passions, he, the great physician, ought not to be hindered, who undergoes all his labours for the sake of the remedy knowledge.
