The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 12.20

अस्य क्षेत्रस्य विज्ञानात् क्षेत्रज्ञ इति सञ्ज्ञि च ।
क्षेत्रज्ञ इति चात्मानं कथयन्त्यात्मचिन्तकाः ॥ २० ॥

asya kṣetrasya vijñānāt kṣetrajña iti sañjñi ca |
kṣetrajña iti cātmānaṃ kathayantyātmacintakāḥ || 20 ||

'There is also a something which bears the name kshetragna, from its knowledge of this "field" (kshetra or the body); and those who investigate the soul call the soul kshetragna.
