The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 11.10

कामाभिभूता हि न यान्ति शर्म त्रिपिष्टपे किं वत मर्त्यलोके ।
कामैः सतृष्णस्य हि नास्ति तृप्तिर्यथेन्धनैर्वातसखस्य वह्नेः ॥ १० ॥

kāmābhibhūtā hi na yānti śarma tripiṣṭape kiṃ vata martyaloke |
kāmaiḥ satṛṣṇasya hi nāsti tṛptiryathendhanairvātasakhasya vahneḥ || 10 ||

'The victims of pleasure attain not to happiness even in the heaven of the gods, still less in the world of mortals; he who is athirst is never satisfied with pleasures, as the fire, the friend of the wind, with fuel.
