The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 11.5

एवं च ये द्रव्यमवाप्य लोके मित्रेषु धर्मे च नियोजयन्ति ।
अवाप्तसाराणि धनानि तेषां भ्रष्टानि नान्ते जनयन्ति तापम् ॥ ५ ॥

evaṃ ca ye dravyamavāpya loke mitreṣu dharme ca niyojayanti |
avāptasārāṇi dhanāni teṣāṃ bhraṣṭāni nānte janayanti tāpam || 5 ||

'So those who, having obtained riches in the world, employ them for the sake of their friends and religion,—their wealth has real solidity, and when it perishes it produces no pain at the end.
