The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 9.63

इहास्ति नास्तीति य एष संशयः परस्य वाक्यैर्न ममात्र निश्चयः ।
अवेत्य तत्त्वं तपसा शमेन वा स्वयं ग्रहीष्यामि यदत्र निश्चितम् ॥ ६३ ॥

ihāsti nāstīti ya eṣa saṃśayaḥ parasya vākyairna mamātra niścayaḥ |
avetya tattvaṃ tapasā śamena vā svayaṃ grahīṣyāmi yadatra niścitam || 63 ||

'This doubt whether anything exists or not, is not to be solved for me by another's words; having determined the truth by asceticism or quietism, I will myself grasp whatever is ascertained concerning it.
