The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

पुनर्भवो ऽस्तीति च केचिदाहुर्नास्तीति केचिन्नियतप्रतिज्ञाः ।
एवं यदा संशयितो ऽयमर्थस्तस्मात् क्षमं भोक्तुमुपस्थिता श्रीः ॥ ४५ ॥

punarbhavo 'stīti ca kecidāhurnāstīti kecinniyatapratijñāḥ |
evaṃ yadā saṃśayito 'yamarthastasmāt kṣamaṃ bhoktumupasthitā śrīḥ || 45 ||

'Again, some say that there is another birth,—others with confident assertion say that there is not; since then the matter is all in doubt, it is right to enjoy the good fortune which comes into thy hand.
