The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 8.83

त्यज नरवर शोकमेहि धैर्यं कुधृतिरिवार्हसि धीर नाश्रु मोक्तुम् ।
स्रजमिव मृदितामपास्य लक्ष्मीं भुवि बहवो हि नृपा वनान्यतीयुः ॥ ८३ ॥

tyaja naravara śokamehi dhairyaṃ kudhṛtirivārhasi dhīra nāśru moktum |
srajamiva mṛditāmapāsya lakṣmīṃ bhuvi bahavo hi nṛpā vanānyatīyuḥ || 83 ||

'Cease, O noblest of men, thy grief, regain thy firmness,—surely thou wilt not, O firm hero, shed tears like one of no self-control'; many kings on this earth have gone into the forests, throwing away their royal pomp like a crushed wreath.
