The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 8.73

निशाम्य च च्छन्दककन्थकावुभौ सुतस्य संश्रुत्य च निश्चयं स्थिरम् ।
पपात शोकाभिहतो महीपतिः शचीपतेर्वृत्त इवोत्सवे ध्वजः ॥ ७३ ॥

niśāmya ca cchandakakanthakāvubhau sutasya saṃśrutya ca niścayaṃ sthiram |
papāta śokābhihato mahīpatiḥ śacīpatervṛtta ivotsave dhvajaḥ || 73 ||

Having heard (of the arrival) of both Chandaka and Kanthaka, and having learned the fixed resolve of his son, the lord of the earth fell struck down by sorrow like the banner of Indra when the festival is over.
