The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 7.44

इत्येवमुक्ते स तपस्विमध्ये तपस्विमुख्येन मनीषिमुख्यः ।
भवप्रणाशाय कृतप्रतिज्ञः स्वं भावमन्तर्गतमाचचक्षे ॥ ४४ ॥

ityevamukte sa tapasvimadhye tapasvimukhyena manīṣimukhyaḥ |
bhavapraṇāśāya kṛtapratijñaḥ svaṃ bhāvamantargatamācacakṣe || 44 ||

He, the chief of the wise, when thus addressed in the midst of the ascetics by their chief—having resolved in his mind to put an end to all existence thus uttered his inward thought:
