The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 7.33

abhyuddhṛtaprajvalitāgnihotraṃ kṛtābhiṣekarṣijanāvakīrṇam |
jāpyasvanākūjitadevakoṣṭhaṃ dharmasya karmāntamiva pravṛttam || 33 ||

Where the sacred fires had been duly transferred when kindled to other spots,—all crowded with the holy hermits who had performed their ablutions, and with the shrines of the gods murmuring with the muttered prayers,—it seemed all alive like the full service of religion in exercise.
