The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 4.4

तं हि ता मेनिरे नार्यः कामो विग्रहवानिति ।
शोभितं लक्षणैर्दीप्तैः सहजैर्भूषणैरिव ॥ ४ ॥

taṃ hi tā menire nāryaḥ kāmo vigrahavāniti |
śobhitaṃ lakṣaṇairdīptaiḥ sahajairbhūṣaṇairiva || 4 ||

Some of the women verily thought that he was Kama incarnate,—decorated as he was with his brilliant signs as with connate ornaments.
