The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 3.62

तस्माद्रथं सूत निवर्त्यतां नो विहारभूमौ न हि देशकालः ।
जानन्विनाशं कथमार्त्तिकाले सचेतनः स्यादिह हि प्रमत्तः ॥ ६२ ॥

tasmādrathaṃ sūta nivartyatāṃ no vihārabhūmau na hi deśakālaḥ |
jānanvināśaṃ kathamārttikāle sacetanaḥ syādiha hi pramattaḥ || 62 ||

'Therefore, O charioteer, turn back our chariot, this is no time or place for a pleasure-excursion; how can a rational being, who knows what destruction is, stay heedless here, in the hour of calamity?'
