The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 3.25

कीर्णं तथा राजपथं कुमारः पौरैर्विनीतैः शुचिधीरवेषैः ।
तत्पूर्वमालोक्य जहर्ष किञ्चिन्मेने पुनर्भावमिवात्मनश्च ॥ २५ ॥

kīrṇaṃ tathā rājapathaṃ kumāraḥ paurairvinītaiḥ śucidhīraveṣaiḥ |
tatpūrvamālokya jaharṣa kiñcinmene punarbhāvamivātmanaśca || 25 ||

Beholding for the first time that high-road thus crowded with respectful citizens, all dressed in white sedate garments, the prince for a while did feel a little pleasure and thought that it seemed to promise a revival of his youth.
