The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 1.53

प्रीतश्च तेभ्यो द्विजसत्तमेभ्यः सत्कारपूर्वं प्रददौ धनानि ।
भूयादयं भूमिपतिर्यथोक्तो यायाज्जरामेत्य वनानि चेति ॥ ५३ ॥

prītaśca tebhyo dvijasattamebhyaḥ satkārapūrvaṃ pradadau dhanāni |
bhūyādayaṃ bhūmipatiryathokto yāyājjarāmetya vanāni ceti || 53 ||

And well-pleased he gave to those most excellent of the twice-born rich treasures with all due honour,—'May he become the ruler of the earth according to your words, and may he retire to the woods when he attains old age.'
