The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 1.47

सारस्वतश्चापि जगाद नष्टं वेदं पुनर्यं ददृशुर्न पूर्वम् ।
व्यासस्तथैनं बहुधा चकार न यं वशिष्ठः कृतवानशक्तिः ॥ ४७ ॥

sārasvataścāpi jagāda naṣṭaṃ vedaṃ punaryaṃ dadṛśurna pūrvam |
vyāsastathainaṃ bahudhā cakāra na yaṃ vaśiṣṭhaḥ kṛtavānaśaktiḥ || 47 ||

'Yea, the son of Sarasvati proclaimed that lost Veda which they had never seen in former ages,—Vyasa rehearsed that in many forms, which Vashishtha helpless could not compile;
