The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 1.9

महीबृतां मूर्ध्नि कृताभिषेकः शुद्धोदनो नाम नृपो ऽर्कबन्धुः ।
अध्याशयो वा स्फुटपुदरीकं पुराधिराजं तदलञ्चकार ॥ ९ ॥

mahībṛtāṃ mūrdhni kṛtābhiṣekaḥ śuddhodano nāma nṛpo 'rkabandhuḥ |
adhyāśayo vā sphuṭapudarīkaṃ purādhirājaṃ tadalañcakāra || 9 ||

A king, by name Shuddhodana, of the kindred of the sun, anointed to stand at the head of earth's monarchs,—ruling over the city, adorned it, as a bee-inmate a full-blown lotus.
